아래의 동영상은 Al Jazeera에서 제작한 101 Documentary 입니다. 인도에서 석면에 의한 건강피해가 발생하고 있지만 정부의 무관심과 관리를 소홀히 하고 있다는 내용입니다. 인도는 1993년에 석면채굴이 금지되었지만 수입은 여전히 진행중이며 다른나라보다 월등히 많은 양을 차지하고 있습니다. 석면은 주로 슬레이트 등의 지붕재나 건축 자재로 사용됩니다. 석면공장에서 30년간 일한 남편이 폐암으로 사망하고 공장 근처에 거주한 아내와 아들도 비슷한 호흡기 장애 증상이 있다고 합니다. 석면폐광산 인근 거주자들의 석면 피해도 언급되어 있습니다. 자세한 내용은 아래 링크의 동영상을 참고하세요.
