  [영국] 중피종 환자 1년새 11% 증가

아래 내용은 영국의 HSE(Health and Safety Executive)에서 밝힌 내용입니다.

중피종으로 인한 사망에 대부분은 건설현장에서 널리 사용되었던 직업적 석면노출이다.

최근에 알려진 내용은 다음과 같다.

1. 중피종의 사망자수는 2011년 2,291명에서 2012년 2,535명으로 증가하였다. 65세이상 남성 사망자가 크게 증가하였기 때문이다.

2. 2012년 기준으로 남성 사망자는 2,126명, 여성은 409명이다.

3. 산재보상(Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit)에 따른 중피종 환자수는 2011년 1,985명에서 2012년 2,125명으로 증가하였다.

4. 석면이 광범위하게 사용된 건설현장의 직업력이 있는 남성이 중피종 발생에 가장 취약하다.
