Japanese Ministry of Lavour will eliminate all exemptions from ban on asbestos under the Occupational Safety and Health Law on March 1, 2012.
Taiwan EPA announced the below time line to achieve total ban on asbestos on July 26, 2010
2015 - Asbestos will be banned from adding to seam filter belts for building materials.
2020 - Asbestos will be banned from adding to tiles, break linings or extruded cement panels.
Taiwan EPA held a public hearing on May 27, 2011 and set up a new time line as the bellow:
2012 - manufacturing of extruded cement composite hollow plates, asbestos filters, and asphalt (filler)
2018 - manufacturing of asbestos shingles and brake linings, are scheduled to be prohibited Future public consultations will continue, so as to achieve an asbestos-free environment as soon as possible.
