  [캐나다] 퀘벡정부의 석면광산 자금보증에 따른 캐나다암협회의 성명

캐나다암협회는 퀘벡주가 제프리석면광산의 재가동을 위해 지금지원을 대한 대출보증을 한 것에 대해 깊은 유감을 표시했습니다. 캐나다암협회 부회장인 폴 라피에르는 퀘벡주가 광산의 대출보증에 대해 재고려해야한다고 하면서 지원되는 자금으로 업종을 다각화하는 방향으로 사용해야한다고 전했습니다.

캐나다암협회는 석면과 관련 문제에 대해 아래와 같은 요청을 연방정부에 실시할 예정입니다.

1. 석면의 수출과 사용에 대한 계획을 재수립하라
2. 석면에 노출된 사람의 건강 상태를 추적할 수 있는 국가감시체계를 수립하라
3. 석면을 함유하고 있는 빌딩의 등록체계를 만들어라
4. 관련 단체의 지원을 위한 전환적 노력을 하라
5. 로테르담 협약(유래화학물질사전통보승인조약으로 특정 유해물질 및 농약의 국제교역시 사전 통보 승엔에 관한 협약)에 백석면을 포함시켜라
