8월 11일, 브라질의 국경일인 정의의 날(day of justice)에 은퇴한 노동감독관이자 브라질 석면추방운동의 리더인 Fernanda Giannasi는 국내 최고 영예의 상을 수상하게 되었다. 공식적인 수여는 총리인 César Augusto Carvalho에 위해 이루어진다. 이 상의 수여 결정은 "브라질에서 쉼없는 석면추방운동활동가"로 알려졌기 때문이다.

Fernanda Giannasi는 30년 넘게 석면추방의 최전선에서 활동했었다. 상파울로의 석면시멘트 공장인 에터니트 노동자에게서 처음으로 석면피해자들을 발견하기도 하였을 뿐만 아니라, 전국에 걸쳐 피해자들과 지속적인 운동을 전개하였다.
