  석면산업에 협박 당하고 있는 과학자들을 위한 지원문

현재 석면산업은 과학자들을 법적인 행동으로써 협박중입니다. 과학자들은 그들의 전문적이고 윤리적인 무장으로 사실에 기반한 노력으로 석면의 유해성을 알리고 있기 때문입니다.

대표적으로 과학자들을 상대로 법적 소송을 일삼고 있는 사례는 아래와 같습니다.

* 브라질의 백석면 협회는 헤르마노 알버커크 교수(브라질 국립보건학교)에게 소송을 걸었습니다. 백석면의 유해성에 대한 과학적인 정보 제공을 그만두게 하기 위해서입니다.

* 인도의 석면시멘트생산 제조업제 협회는 Sanjay Chaturvedi 교수(University College of Medical Sciences), Tushar Kant Joshi 박사(Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health, Maulana Azad Medical College)에게 법적 소송을 하였습니다. 이는 백석면의 유해성에 대한 기고를 그만두게 하기 위해서 입니다.

* 태국에서는 백석면정보센터에서 Vithaya Kulsomboon 교수(Chulalongkorn University )에게 법적 위협을 가하고 있는데 교수가 백석면의 건강 유해성을 일반에 알리는 것을 금지하지 위해서 입니다.
